The Rhinegold & Fornassetti

31 October - 2 November

Milan

31 October -2 November, 2024

Milan’s cathedral is strikingly beautiful. Its forest of pinnacles and spires dazzles at sunrise, while the rooftop terrace features parapets dotted with gargoyles. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a famous glass-covered passage that connects two of the city’s iconic landmarks – the Duomo and La Scala – while housing two of the oldest cafés in Milan: Motta and Savini (Charlie Chaplin reported that he had the best meal of his life at Savini!).

As part of our trip, La Scala will treat you to one of the most highly anticipated events of the season. Milan’s theatre has been waiting for a new production of Wagner’s Ring for ten years. The first instalment of this epic tetralogy: The Rhinegold, staged by David McVicar and conducted by Christian Thielemann. Michael Volle’s Wotan, Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke’s Mime and Okka von der Damerau’s Fricka truly stand out among the German cast.

Be inspired by the world of Fornasetti visiting in private their atelier in the city where imagination and reality floats, enriched by cultural references and artistic allusions. Fornasetti objects are not simply something to possess, it is something to live and be inspired by.
