Reopening of The Frick Collection: A Celebration of Art and Legacy
1 December - 31 December
New York
Late 2024
For nearly ninety years, visitors from around the world have been deeply moved by the beauty and tranquility of The Frick Collection. To ensure the continued quality of the Frick experience, the institution has undertaken a renovation and enhancement project aimed at better serving a twenty-first-century audience.
The collection, originating from the generosity of Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919), encompasses his home, a stunning mansion designed in the Beaux-Arts and Italian Renaissance Revival style, along with paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts, all bequeathed to the public for their enjoyment. Since its inception in 1935, the institution has continuously expanded its holdings, more than doubling in size over the decades.
Artists with works in the collection include Bellini, Fragonard, Gainsborough, Goya, Holbein, Rembrandt, Titian, Turner, Velázquez, Vermeer, and Whistler.
