Puccini’s Tosca
6 June - 7 June
Munich
6-7 June, 2024As summer draws near, Munich becomes truly irresistible. In fine weather, the Bavarian city moves outdoors and bursts with activities. We will wander through the English Garden, located on the Isar river, or admire the striking Gallery of Beauties at Nymphenburg Palace.
The Alte Pinakothek (Old Picture Gallery) hosts extraordinary collections (Dürer, Rubens, El Greco, etc.). Built in the 1740s, the Church of St. John of Nepomuk (also known as the Asamkirche) boasts an incredibly luxurious Baroque design. With its Doric columns, Königsplatz is a royal square inspired by the Acropolis in Athens. The Glyptothek also boasts an extensive collection of Greek and Roman sculptures. You may want to unwind over a refreshing beer at the Hofbräuhaus, one of the most famous beer halls in the world!
In the evening, we will take you to see an exceptional Tosca production. For a number of years now, the Munich Opera has stood out as a major establishment on the current opera scene.
The whole world looks forward to each new production, and this Tosca staged by filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó is no exception. The vocal cast brings together the cream of the international singing crop: Anja Harteros, Charles Castronovo and Ludovic Tézier. Simply majestic!
