Aix-en-Provence is preparing to celebrate Paul Cézanne in 2025, a year that marks a profound reunion with its most iconic resident.
The highlight of the Year of Cézanne is the international Cézanne au Jas de Bouffan exhibition at the Musée Granet, running from June 28th to October 13th. Featuring up to 100 masterpieces, this landmark event—realized in collaboration with leading museums in America, Europe, and Japan—offers fresh perspectives on Cézanne’s work and his enduring connection to his homeland.
This year also includes the phased renovation and reopening of Cézanne’s family home and final studio, creating unique opportunities to uncover hidden gems and delve deeper into the life and inspirations of this visionary artist. With iconic works like The Card Players, intimate explorations of Jas de Bouffan, and an array of tributes, visitors can experience Cézanne’s world as never before.
As Aix-en-Provence restores Cézanne to his rightful place at the heart of the city, 2025 becomes a celebration of the man, the artist, and the enduring bond between his art and his beloved Provençal roots.
